Vintage Finds - Heading to the Shop

Trying to get some of my inventory off the craftroom floor and into the Etsy shop.  Just realized I've accumulated a mini-collection of vintage Thermoses and the like.

Not all of these are listed yet - but they are all available!

Maximum retro-awsomeness!

This one's actually a big 'un.  Jon wants to keep it for personal use.  I told him if we kept everything cool we found, it'd pretty much be a first class ticket to being on that Hoarders show...

So if you're in the market for some good retro camping/lunch gear - you know where to go!  And they're actually not all listed yet - so if you neeed one before it gets to the shop - let me know!

Plarning again!

Hello, you wonderful blog readers, you! I hope everyone had (and is still having!) a wonderful holiday. I'm off the day job this week so I'm hoping to get a lot of stuff done around here, creatively speaking, but have managed to do nothing so far but get up just before noon and eat Christmas deserts for breakfast. *sigh* I get one day of recuperation though, right? Right. Thanks! :)

Anyway, if you've been with me for a while, you may remember when I started making these plarn bags (here, here and here). Well, since I finally found myself with some down time, after the show, and after the Christmas craziness, I decided to start that up again.  It's a really fun and easy project and it really speaks to my inner hippie so I'm having a grand ol' time with it. :)

I really love the texture of these bags.  It's so fun to see them coming along.  Here's where I'm at now:

And I know I'm making this plarning business sound really easy (because it is!) but it is not without its inherent  difficulties...especially if you're a crazy cat person like myself.  This is what I woke up to the other morning:

Yeah.  Laugh now, Moe.  You better just thank your lucky stars you're so darn cute.

My week in photos...

Aside from the fact that I've clearly become obsessed with my Hipstamatic app, we've just been busy with family and holiday type stuff around here lately.  I've also been crafting up a storm - finishing projects and getting some gifts completed.  Tonight I'm actually working on some more plarn bags.  I'd like to stock the shop with them by the time summer rolls around - they make great farmer's market bags!  But other than that, and more specifically, I just wanted to pop in real quick to share my week in re-cap. :)

We attended the "Midnight Madness" event in Romeo again this year.

Gosh, I love looking at all the vintage Christmas stuff.  Especially in this one store - they've got the coolest stuff.  I feel a holiday tradition coming on.  And! while we were in the store, carolers stopped and sang out front!  Real live carolers!!  I don't think I've ever seen/heard carolers in real life.  It was great.  And we did end up bringing home a couple treasures - including a couple of these little cuties:

Moving on - I fiiiiiinally completed my custom order art doll - Boris. :)

Ordered some cute stuff for the boys for Christmas...

Jammed out this adorable little guy for my dad for Xmas.  Don't tell him!  (And sorry for the exposure - bad lighting.)

Jon and I found and stopped at a new antique shop on our way to our annual holiday party yesterday.

Very cute stuff - totally going back when we have more time.

And our house is totally decked out for Christmas now. :)  Moezilla is lovin it.

How's your holiday season shaping up?  Are you making gifts?  Deckin your halls?  Will you be having Christmas dinner at your place?  Do you feel ready?

Sharing some giveaway love!

I'm sorry I've been MIA here lately.  No other excuse but that it's that time of year - and I'm spending most of my time with family, and friends, and getting into the Christmas spirit.  :)

Today though, I have an AWESOME giveaway to share with you!  Radmegan is a suuuper crafty chica with a very awesome blog who's having one of the best giveaways I've ever seen.  Run over there to check it out!

Good luck!

Holiday Gift Guide a la Me!

I usually have a ton of great ideas for the people on my list during Christmas.  For some reason, this year, I'm drawing a few blanks.  I'm making a few things, and have bought a few things...but my list is far from complete.

In the mean time, I've done a ton of shopping around lately and wanted to share some great ideas I've come across with you.  Maybe it'll save you some shop-time this season.  (All photos below are the property of the sites/shops they came from of course.)

I almost bought one of these phone cases for myself (gotta stop shopping for me! aah!) but they would make great gifts for almost anyone.  Parents, siblings, significant others.  You have to check out the rest of the pics.  If you end up getting one - let me know how you like it.  It's still on my wishlist...
Soul Flower is a great site with tons of cute things.  I love these belts - so pretty!
Adooorable little birdhouse necklace.
I kinda have a thing for vintage vests.  And I was looking for one for Jon - but this one's too small  for him.
Love love love vintage radios.  This one's slightly out of my reach... ;)
I think I may get one of these for one of the lil' munchkins in my life.  So neat! (Note, they look to be currently sold out of this toy - but Etsians are generally awesome about accommodating special requests.)
Excellent gift for the crochet-er in your life!  Love these!  (Also on the wish list...)
And lets not forget the fuzzy ones in our life!  Isn't this off the ridiculous cuteness chart?!
Speaking of ridiculous cuteness alert....I may or may not have bought this for Cooper to wear for Christmas this year... ;)  Don't tell him.  It's a surprise!

Her shop = cute overload!
And what about Moe, you ask?  Well, of course Moe needs to dress for Christmas dinner too!  He's getting this dashing little number:

Her shop (and her kitty!) are also so darn cute.

I know right!?  I'm going to have two very dapper lil' felines come Christmas.

Who am I kidding - they're gonna be wearing these around the house like fuzzy little GQ models as often as they'll let me strap them in one. ;)
